Helpful Information When Deciding Where to Stay on Phuket Island

The island of Phuket sits in the Andaman Sea just off the southwestern coast of Thailand, and it is now well-established as one of the top vacation destinations in the world. Its mixture of perfect white sandy beaches, cool blue seas and fine weather is a perfect combination for both couples and families alike. It attracts many visitors looking for a relaxing beachside break, which it easily delivers. It also has a massive selection of high-quality accommodation options, a superb range of restaurants, and plenty of attractions that offer something for everyone. This short piece will describe the island’s main resorts dotted along the island’s coastline and help you decide where to find a hotel in Phuket. Karon Beach, Mai Kao and Rawai are just three of the beachside locations that are well served by excellent resort spas and hotels.

It’s Easy to Get To

Phuket is easily reached via a short flight from Bangkok’s international airport into the island’s small airfield. Although it is Thailand’s largest island, even the furthest resorts on the southern end of the island are only a fairly short bus or taxi ride away. The majority of Phuket’s beachside settlements are all along the west coast, facing out into the Andaman Sea.

Close To the Airport

If you do not want any transfer journey after your arrival, then one of the hotels in the northern resorts may appeal to you. Nai Thon, Bang Tao, and Mai Kao all have wonderful picture postcard beaches and a varied selection of accommodation options. As you travel southwards along the coast, further options exist in Kamala beach before you reach one of the island’s largest resorts, the lively Patong Beach, where the nightlife is the best Phuket has to offer.

Going Further South

As you travel towards the southern end of Phuket, you arrive at the fantastic Karon beach, which has a good number of superb family-orientated hotels and luxury spa resorts. On the island’s southern tip, the isolated beaches of Kata, Kata Noi and Rawai are home to a selection of five-star world-class spas and isolated retreats; just around the headland, Chalong Bay is a further option for your hotel location.

On The East Coast

The other side of Phuket is home to the island’s principal settlement of Phuket town, and although there are some hotels, the town, and the east coast itself is not home to many beaches that have the same high standard as their west coast brothers and sisters.

Hopefully, this short piece has given you a good starting point when you choose your hotel in Phuket; one thing is for sure: you will have a holiday you will never forget.
